Counoise is a little-known grape historically from the Rhône Valley of France. Typically used as a blending grape with Grenache and Syrah, Counoise is rarely bottled on its own. However, the grape makes an interesting wine that is a "must try" for all true Rhône connoisseurs.

Izzo's Counoise is layered with white peppercorn, black licorice and ripe berry flavors. On the palate it is somewhat light with easy-to-handle tannins. Bring this wine with you to your next wine tasting party and impress your friends with your unique find. If you don't feel like sharing with the group, have this wine with simple dishes. We find it goes best with a simple grilled t-bone steak with mashed potatoes or a pepperoni pizza!
