Without question, Nebbiolo is one of the great red wine grapes of the world. In Italy's Piedmont region, Nebbiolo yields wines of depth, complexity, and, with aging, great finesse. The best of Italy's wines from Nebbiolo are called Barolo, Spanna, and Barbaresco.  Nebbiolo is one of the more tannic, even bitter, wine varieties. Nebbiolo is one of the rarest of the noble wines of Italy and represents only a scant 3% of the total wine production of the Piemonte region and is jJealously guarded in Barolo. So much so that  few Nebbiolo vines have been exported to other countries. We have styled this wine to be a balance between bright fruit and earth notes.

Here in California, Nebbiolo sits near the top of our wish list. Due to the high interest yet lack of availability, many vineyards have been planting this noble grape in California.

'The wine captures the intrinsic flavors of Italy - cherry, roses, spice, tar and truffles, combined with ripe, forward fruit. Our deep garnet color with forward tastes of brightTrevi Nebbiolo cherry/berry in the front of the mouth with hints of citrus, tar, wildflowers, and tobacco. There is a lingering finish  that invites another sip of the wine. This wine should be paired with food. It is at its best with pork, duck, roasts, or hearty pasta dishes.
