Big nose of cherries, flowers, leather, spice and plum which are followed by big plum and leathery, meaty flavors on the palate, and finishes with plum and firm tannins. A youthful hint of vanilla-oak in the finish will harmonize with the rich fruit in time. You can confidently lie this wine down for a few years or open it young with equally intense foods: black pepper crusted filet mignon and horseradish mashed potatoes both topped with a port wine reduction! Be prepared for purple teeth... but it will be worth it! |
